Does BF get $$ for ad clickthrough?

Just curious, does BF get money for just rendering ads, or only for (or more for?) clickthrough? (Or only for (more for?) eventual purchase from advertiser?)

If my beloved BF gets money from clickthrough, I will start clicking and checking out advertisers stuff more often (when the automatic stuff actually throws relevant ads at me). But if BF gets all the money it gets just from displaying ads (not more for clickthrough), I will be less likely to click.

Why not just get a subscription? Then BF gets money, and you get no ads.

Out fishing with Annie on his lap, a cigar in one hand and a ginger ale in the other, watching the sunset.

$12 a year gets you no ads at all and exclusive access to the exciting Titanium Club. Friday nights are Country and Western, Saturdays are Disco and it's Open Mike night on Sundays.

No, you misunderstand. It's a surgical thing.

Curious but is this why BF won't use Tapatalk? You can't have banners in Tapatalk...

Thanks. I read that thread. To be honest, I don't think this forum is doing anything incredibly more complicated than the thousand of other forums out there. Tapatalk has also evolved quite a bit. Of the major forums I'm on - rcgroups.com, snowboardingforums.com, avs forums, android forums, gopro fanatics forum, xda-developers forum, bimmer forums, etc. they all use Tapatalk. I'm sure they all have ''code overlay" complications too...

Honestly, given the plethora of ads on this site (seriously, right now I have AMEX, Stubhub, eHarmony and Reebok ads blinking in my face as I type this), and the fact you have to buy the app ($1.99 doesn't break the bank but it has terrible reviews) makes me think the reluctance is really more about potential revenue loss due to Tapatalk's no frills platform and less about making it easy for users to access these boards. I get it - I guess I'm not not sure why you don't come out and say that. I for one, would easily donate $$ to help bridge the gap (and make my life easier for everyone).

Just my 2 cents. I'd easily pay $10+ to get access to Tapatalk on this forum. My time and avoiding this aggravation is well worth it.

We do not own tapatalk, and we want to also stick to software we own. This issue is a closed issue. We are not going to install tapatalk.......period. This is the choice of the people that own these boards.
