FYI - a troll is running us off the board
Spuds Mcdoggie or some such crap. Those of us who ride bents are sorta sick of putting up with him. I really like it here and don't wish to leave, so I was inviting you to ban him. Thanks.

You would need to provide some degree of proof. Click on the SPAM! button in each thread he is active in and if we deem what he is doing against the rules than we will consider further action.

Typically a troll says something that goes against the norm which create controvery. Some take it so far to get insulting. Some trolls are good (offer differing opinions to a bunch of yes people) and other trolls are bad (mostly)
I know the thread you are talking about, and yes, you 'seemed' to be trying to troll for responses.

Better definition of troll is somebody who creates new threads for the explicit purpose of inciting a flame war.

I looked up Spuds Mcdoggie's posts and guess what? No personal attacks or abusive languague, no spam or hijacking of threads. He seems okay to me. Seems like he only POs those who take themselves WAY too seriously. It seemed like this was the same deal with ol' 53-11, he didn't attack, heck, he didn't even attack in self defense, but he really got on the nerves of those who have their head up their ass. Lighten up, people, there's always the "ignore" function, but it takes a real butthole to try to get someone banned for "taking it slow" and "eating PBJ". I've had people make verbal attacks on these boards, but it's just the internet, and I prefer to handle it like an adult, and not run to the mods 'cuz I can't trouble myself to use an ignore list. I hope he keeps on pissing off all the right people.

THere is a lot of BS on these boards in general even from those who "consider themselves" to be highly respected. Disagree with their ideas and you will get attacked viciously.
Good example is how I get viciously attacked by a certain person who espouses the "proportional crank length" theory.....which is great in theory (long cranks for tall riders) , but doesn't work in reality becasue large frames are already designed in with a lot of set-back for tall riders so they may use the small cranks. (50cm frame will have 75-76 seat tube angle and 62 cm frame will have 72 degree seat tube angle)
THe reality is the person in question dislikes me becasue I have proven that his "proportional crank length" theory is just a bunch of BS (if you are riding a factory frame with the compensation for long legs already built into the seat tube angle).
As a result I don't think he parrots this nonsense anymore. Heck, If I followed this proprtional crank length theory I'd be riding around on a 195mm crankset. I use a 180mm.
Regarding misinformation, I think those people who are obviuously "clowning around" are far less dangerous than those that give out misinformation in a serious tone.

Speaking of Spuds McDoogle. How dangerous is his "misinformation?" when he has a signature like this.....
"The mellowest recumbent rider, recumbent hill walker, PBJ eating, smelling the roses benter at bikeforums.net. Wave "Hi" when you pass me walking my recumbent up a hill."
PBJ eating? Smelling the roses?
If he were really trying to "brainwash" people he would wouldn't have such a goofy sig.
