Please separate the single speed / fixed gear section

Single speed IS NOT fixed gear.

Please make separate forum subsections for both.

Thank you.

While we're on the subject, perhaps we can also get single speed Cyclocross Racing and Singlespeed Recreational Cycloss subforums.

Hmmmmmmmm?

SS/FG mod here,

Although different in principle, single-speed & fixed gear bicycles have a lot of similarities; not to mention members are highly knowledgeable in either. We don't judge either between the two.

What if I told you I have a bicycle with a flip flop hub that has a freewheel on one side and a fixed-track cog/ lockring on the other?

What if I have a single speed road bike and want to avoid all the hipsters riding fixies? Where do I go?

I was looking at the past threads in that section, from ~2003, and they were all about regular SS bikes, not fixies. We need a section like that again.

Some tips...

Avoid Starbucks.

Start a thread dedicated to SS bikes, remembering that FG bikes also are single speed and lots of folks run a flip.

Buy a Fiero.

I actually laughed to this; truth be told, we're actually anti-hipster. There's not a single hipster there. We do have bicycle repair man however.

Your other option is the rough and tumble Road cycling forum, where you might be pumbled by the equivalent of rambunctious jocks around here if you're not careful.

For starters, you wouldn't want to post such a thread in either if you do not have significantly thick skin or patience.
