Why can't you edit titles to threads?
It seems like this would be a good feature to have, as I have noticed many typos on thread titles or a thread title could be edited for more a approprite title for the content. I frequently make typos, and there is no way to edit them in a thread title.
Can we enable this as an option? Joe? Mods?
Thanks!

I say leave it, force people to look at their own post for just a second before posting. But then again I just realized if someone is going to spell 'loose' for 'lose' they ain't going to notice. Oh well.

i understand being able to change typos. but what if someone changed the title completely on a thread? wouldn't that make it hard to locate, and it would be confusing to be subscribed to threads one day that have a different title the next day.
i don't think anyone would abuse it, but potentially it might be a problem. or not...i have no idea.

Just PM a mod to request it be corrected. I made a format error on one of the rare threads I started. Noted it in my post through the edit function, and it was fixed.
Structure should remain the domain of the mods. But communication with them might help.

If the MODS are happy to take many many PM's and spend all there time changing titles ect. then so be it. But it would be easier to make it so that you could change the title, within a certain time like Koffee said.

It was just a though to make things a little better around here, thats all. But if you don't go for it, then hey.

I think it's a matter of the coding and if it can be coded into the website. I just don't know if that's possible. That's why for now, it will have to be up to the mods. It would be nice if you all can do it, but if that option can't be coded in, we have to just make do with what we can do.

On one of the boards I belong to, we can edit anything in our posts at any time, including title. Very rarely does anyone completely change the title of the thread.
On another board, we can only edit our posts within 2 hours of initially posting it.
I'm for users being able to edit thread titles, if possible, to make it easier for them to note that new information is in the thread (for example, adding *UPDATED* to end of original title).
But if it can't be added in, software-wise, I understand.
