Hi, I'm planning a visit with my wife to London next month, while I'm there I want to look for some parts for my 70's Raleigh Roadster.. For example a hard-to-find pair of 28x1 1/2 Westwood rims.. Where can I find such parts? I may be interested in vintage lightweight stuff too ;) Also we want...
I'm a bike novice trying to renovate my son's old bike for my use. It's a Claud Butler MTB (no name) aluminium frame about 10 years old. My latest problem is that I think it needs a gear hanger to fit a rear derailleur on. I'm confused about the choices on the internet as they all seem pretty...
Im hoping to buy a wheel off eBay but due to the postal strike and buyer laziness, the wheel is for pickup only. Is there any one around Milton Keynes that could pick it up after I pay for it and ship it stateside? thanks in advance.
Just wondering how many people from the UK are registered with this forum? :) I haven't come across anyone else yet. Andy UK

Hi, As a relatively new cyclist (i have been cycling a year) i'm looking at a Cycling holiday in Mallorca towards the end of the summer, to hire a better bike and cycle more scenic and challanging routes, i was wondering if anybody has any info that they wouldn't mind sharing if they have done...
I am an avid roadie and racer. I will be visiting London shortly. I would like to rent a road bike and go out with a local club for a ride on a weekend morning. Any tips on how I can accomplish this? Also can I take a bike on the tube to my meeting point. Thanks, Steve
I know it's a long chance, but ... I found a pannier on the traffic island at the south end of Blackfriars bridge in London, 8pm Wednesday night. It clearly fell off someone's bike, and a passerby put it out of traffic. No id (or valuables), just man's clothes. It's at Southwark Police station.
Hi people, newby here, been hugely inspired to get my ass back on a saddle after watching Mark Beaumonts round the world documentary (from the couch), I have an old puch racer which I'm gonna treat to a make-over, does anyone know where I can get the bars, levers and shifter that Mark had on his...
Not sure if anybody already stumbled over this: http://www.bbc.co.uk/podcasts/series/r4choice/ Bristol won a bid to be "Cycling City". Sounds interesting.
Business takes me to London next week; I'll have Saturday and part of Sunday (Oct 10-11) free for touristing. Thought it would be fun to rent a folder (if possible) and use multi-mode transport to see the city. Suggestions? thanks
Ill be visiting London for a day sometime in the coming weeks, taking my bike, and Im planning on visiting Brick Lane Bikes and Condor Cycles, has anyone had experience with these places? Any good? Also can anyone recommend me some other decent bike shops around London, preferably within the circle...
Hi, I'm trying to take advantage of the momentarily (and artificially) strong U.S. dollar. Totalcycling.com seems to have some pretty good prices. What other online stores should I check out?
Hi, I haven't posted here since 2005, but my family and I are moving to London for at least two years or longer. In the "must move" category are our five bikes. So, what's the best way to get riding in and around London? Any recommended rides, clubs or events we should get involved in? ...
Not sure if anyone has done this before but this year's Skyride is the same as previous years' London Freewheel. However, there are now more locations around the country. Info here: http://new.britishcycling.org.uk/skyride I will be doing the London one again, likely as a marshall as I...
Surprised not to see amention of it on this forum- but have to admit that I am only an occasional visitor. Tour of Britain and you can ride a couple of stages as on the link http://www.unitebycycling.org.uk/ Entries are still possible but mine went in months ago. I am on the London FUN...
Near Isle of Sheppey? I may be trying to organize a bike for my "BIG" brother, soon. From across the Atlantic. Seeking info on a bike shop that will not rip him off, and get him on some wheels that won't fold that easily. He is 6'4" and probably weighs North of 300lbs. Probably something laid...
i am going to be back home visiting for 2 weeks, was wondering if anyone knows of any roadbike rentals in greenock or glasgow, cause after those two weeks i have a century ride to do in florida when i return
Hello First post I'm afraid. Got knocked off my bike on Tuesday (Trek 1400). The front wheel is a write off however I'm wondering if the integrity of the frame and forks may have been compromised. Impact was from the side and I think the car drove over the front wheel. I haven't looked for...
I know it should be listed on the CTC calendar but I haven't looked to see what date it is on this year. It is only a metric but this is one ride I try to do most years. 65 miles on the New Forest and as the name implies- you run over a lot of Grid Irons that are used to keep the cattle on the...
