Suggested tubing for first lugged steel frame build

    Hi All

I was wanting to get a suggestion on the right tubing for a first build of a lugged steel track frame.

I was thinking of Columbus - Cromor or SL or any other suggestions welcome.

    Thanks

    Trevor

    1) IDK your torch wielding experience ..

I used Columbus, 0.9mm wall strait gage Aelle. the alloy more heat, mis applied, tolerant ..

Friends trying at the same time with DB reynolds 531, burned holes in it, making theirs.

Im still using my bike with that frame, built in 1975.

The Cromor tubeset has 0.9mm walls in the butts and is chromoly. Between the new SL (Niobium) and Cromor there wouldn't be much of a weight penalty using Cromor, and with the thicker butts the Cromor would be more forgiving of less experience with the torch as well as being less expensive.

For your first frame, don't try anything too fancy or exotic. You might want to look here:
