columbus tubing
hi framebuilders.
i have an older track frame that is marked with a columbus sticker, which i think must be in italian.
riverniciato.
does anyone know anything about it, or if there's a more common name equivalent?
asked this in vintage & classic a long time ago, but they didn't have anything to say.

Rivetted perhaps? The French approximation means riveted or stapled.
Reinforced means something else. All my powers of online translation can't solve this one!

reinforced = "rinforzati" or something to that effect
has your frame been reapinted?
"riverniciato" is the past tense of "riverniciare" with is just "verniciare" prefixed with a "ri"
and "ri-" in italian is "re-" in english
and "verniciare" means "to paint" or "to varnish"
so my guess is "reverniciare" means "This bike is make with Columbus tubing, but the dumbass who repainted it destroyed the original tubing sticker before reading it so we don't know what exactly this frame is made of. But we're sure it's Columbus"

i'm fairly certain that it had original paint when it had that sticker. i've also seen other italian bikes on ebay with the same tubing sticker. by "italian", i mean manufactured in italy, sold in italy...as opposed to manufactured in italy for US sale.
mine is a marinoni though, which is made by an italian guy in canada, so...
