Building a new fixed gear bike

can someone help me with this

I want a custom fixed bike, but have no idea where to start, where to go, or even how to do it

most importantly, how do i budget myself so it's not too expensive?

Unless you have access to metalworking tools, joinery tools in particular, it will cost a fortune compared to just buying a frame, if that is the budget comparison you have in mind.

Try this page for an overview of a few road frames:

Try Frameforum.net. there is a otn there and lots of link. Erichie has a web link to different build alongs. Fixies are a very popular project.

The budget part is easy. Set yourself one, and stick to it!

The next part is a bit harder - finding someone to build it.

www.bikeschool.com has a good list of companies but it's a bit of a hard slog as there's lots to choose from.

If you let us know exactly what you're after, we can help you through the process.

Do you have the bike frame prep tools. You can have a lot of metal tools like Bridgeports and still be a step back. I've heard of people getting away without needing these tools, when tigging, but from the sound of it AO is hard on the tubes movement wise.
