    fixing colnago master

I have a colnago master x light with a 3mm deviation in the top tube and a kink in the tubing underneath the top tube near the lug.Rather than scrap the frame my local garage is happy to weld a piece of steel to the underside. It will look dreadful but will hopefully salvage the frame for training purposes. Are they any precautions the welder should take and should the weld be done in a particular fashion given the nature of columbus gilco tubing.
    Thanks
    Mark

You might want to ask a Mod (the folks with the blue stars next to their names. Check the main page to see if any are online.Click on their name and send a Private Message asking to move the thread if you wish to. ) to move this to the Frame Building section. You should getter good advice there.

Near the head lug? What does the downtube look like? How about alignment? This sounds like a bad idea.

This (nice) frame should be repaired correctly.
I am going to go ahead and move it to the frame builder page.
