Questions about Carbon Fiber bikes.

Questions about Carbon Fiber bike?
- How well can a road bike CF do off road such as dirt and gravel. Will the high vibration wear the CF much quicker than other metals?

-Can it react to high and low temperatures?

-How Fragile is it. For example, if I take a bat and swing at it, how much will it likely break compared to say aluminum and steel?

-I'm using my CF road bike as a touring bike with replaced alloy seatpost and a clamp rack? Yes i do LONG rides. Is there anything that concerns you guys about this? How well can a CF road bike handle when used as a touring?

-I weight 230 pounds and willl prob be adding more weights to the rack. How much can the CF frame hold?

fwiw, I raced Perry Roubaix on my CF bike this year, and the Pros race Paris Roubaix almost exclusively on CF.

I wouldn't recommen that you swing a baseball bat at any lightweight road bike by the way.

try hitting your foot with that bat first...it wont hurt as much as the bill to get your cf frame fixed

CF frames are great for tourig if you have a factory sponsored sag-waggon following you with 6 frames on the roof

It depends on what kind of bat are you using, aluminum or wood?
