Aluminum Stanchion Tube Thickness

Hi Everyone,

I'm building some aluminum forks using the crown from my old Judy Rock Shox. I've already investment cast the dropout lugs so I'm pretty fixed on an OD of 1" for the stanchions. What would be a good thickness for the tubing? I'm planning on using 6061 Aluminum because that's what the crown and dropouts are. Thanx.
