Bright white powder coat question. Recommendations?

Question for you powder coaters...

I am having a little issue with bright white powders.

All the bright whites I have tried seem a bit runny, so the powder seems to end up a bit thin or a bit thick. On lugged frames the edges tend to show through on the first coat, yet there will still be some heavy spots somewhere. In all honesty these things are barely noticeable to an outsider, but I notice! RRRRRRRRRRRRRR!

The problem is only with the bright whites. All other colors lay on beautifully. Even off-whites lay on great.

I've tried Cardinal WH04, a few of Tiger's bright whites, and a few of the Prismatics bright whites.

Anyone else have this problem? A better powder to use? Tips?

there was a bike posted on here by an unsatisfied customer that had this problem (among other things). Believe me, people do notice. The powder coat on that bike was done by one of the big names in the bike business, so it's not an easy problem to solve.

Thanks for reminding me to stay away from white powder coat. I was thinking about it for my commuter.

Unterhausen,

I find it is only the bright whites. Even the "regular" whites and slightly off whites lay on just fine.

So as long as you stay away from the bright whites you should be OK.

But there must be a bright white that lays on nicely, right??
