Porteur Bike Geometry Question
What kind of frame angles and fork rake and trail work well for a Porteur bike?
Per my understanding the Paris newspaper delivery bikes used to carry up to 50Kg of newspapers on a front rack above the front wheel. The photos I have seen of older delivery bikes typically had their carrying basket or box positioned there too. At the same time I read about people using modern bikes complaining of deteriorated handling from just a relatively light handlebar bag or basket mounted on their bikes.
Is the difference due primarily to frame mounting of the rack versus handlebar mounting of the bag or is there more involved?

Check out THIS DESCRIPTION of the Kogswell P/R on bikeman.com. You're typically talking about a steeper HTA to reduce wheel flop and increased fork offset to produce a trail of around 30mm.
