Water bottle bosses on carbon frames

I am working on my first frame with carbon tubes and obviously won't be brazing the water bottle bosses in. I have planned all along to epoxy them in with 3M DP420 epoxy weld. Do you know if this will be sufficient or is there a more secure method. I know some builders use some type of rivot gun and I was curious where I might find one. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

You can get a pop rivet gun at Home Despot or the like.
I got the bosses I used on my last bamboo frame from Nova.
I'd look the url up for you but my girlfriend is here and tapping her foot.

Did you secure yours with the rivot gun and how does it implant the h2o boss? It doesn't have to be a special rivot gun? Do you think the Scotch-Weld epoxy will hold?

What you should use is called a rivet nut. I've installed them by modifying an old QR skewer so that it could be used to compress the rivet rather than shelling out the cash for a special rivet tool. (a hardware store pop rivet gun won't work with a rivet nut) I bed the rivet with dp420, then compress with my skewer-tool until tight.

McMaster sells the proper tool also.

I see my link didn't go quite where I thought, so I'll add that I recommend the knurled open end type in aluminum.

I hope so. A square inch of DP-420 on a properly prepared surface will suspend a Ford Modeo Estate.

Thanks for all the info. I think I will start with the DP-420 and adjust if needed but will also look into the rivot nut options as well.

All these years and I have been misspelling the word "rivet." So much for winning that 3rd grade spelling B in Mrs. Bush's class. Man she was hot. With a name like Mrs. Bush you can only imagine.
