Custom Headset Spacer Diameter
I'm planning on ordering some custom cut aluminum tube to use as a headset spacer for a bike with a tall stack. I've found a site that has a wide selection of tubing options and will cut it to the length I need. I have a 1 1/8" steerer tube, will a tube with an inside diameter of 1 1/8" fit or do I need to find a tube that has a slightly larger than 1 1/8" inside diameter?

Thanks very much. In case somebody comes across this thread looking for the same answer: A 1 1/8" Headset Spacer has an inside diameter of 28.8mm (1.134") and an outside diameter of 35mm (1.378"). Hopefully I can find some tubing that size.

You can use 1-3/8" X .095" wall. I usually use .120" wall and take a bit out of the inside with a lathe. It's essential that the ends are the tube are cut perfectly square or the headset bearings will perish quickly.

I got a bunch of Cane creek interlok spacers , they snap together like Legos,
and seem to work fine ..
I got the Plastic, polycarbonate I think, ones several thicknesses per pack ,
they make aluminum ones too.
