Low-rider mid-fork Boss location?
I tried searching, can't figure it out. Suggestions for heigh of a through-boss for lowriders, from top-of-fork crown ____ mm??

The best thing to do is to use the rack itself to determine where the boss should go. At Trek we made a fixture for it, with the bosses located to use a Blackburn low-rider rack, but that's mass production for you. For a one-off project, nothing beats having the actual equipment at hand.

thanks for the reply. This isn't nearly one-off, though, and I don't know what racks people will want to use. I made some measurements and settled around 150mm right-angle distance from center-of-axle... |
The standard is 165 mm between the (rear) eyelet on the dropout and the mid-fork braze-on. That's what Tubus and others use.

that's real close to where mine ended up, but not close enough, I'm afraid. Key question is: you're talking right-angle distance, right? Otherwise fork rake..... PS: I got my measurement by taking a tape measure to a specialized dealer.... |
