Need help from the pro's...

I'm looking at installing a Surly Pacer for on my Steamroller and was wondering if it would totally eff the geometry. As for the intended use, its my road bike(commuting, centuries, 20milers...) Thanks in advance folks.

Here's the numbers:

Steam

AC-375mm
Rake-38mm

Pacer

AC-371mm
Rake-45mm

Your front end will drop by approx. 4mm which isn't much! Considering tire sizes (and pressure?) surely give fluctuations in height of the same order. So in theory the head angle will steepen (trail increases), but then the higher rake tends to decrease the trail. So it seems fine to me. You could switch to a taller (lower) stack headset or choose a bigger tire in front... but you probably don't need that.

I don't think you're going to notice any problems
