Sure, it's possible, but it's way more effort then it's worth with nothing to gain. It's really hard to beat a standard seat post- and if the frame is already finished and functional it seems like a non-starter.
If you have your heart set on an ISP I would recommend starting from the ground up and really paying attention to how the forces act on the parts you hope to design.

You could paint your seat post the same color as the frame and get 99% of the benefit of the ISP with none of the hassles.
