30/16mm oval chain stays - where to order from?

Hey everyone,

Would anyone know where I could order straight 30/16mm oval chain stays?

(for this bb shell --> https://www.cycle-frames.com/bicycle-...ild-Steel.html)

.. checked fairing, nova cycles and henry james and didnt find anything, just s shaped chain stays on henry james, but im looking for straight ones.

Thanks for any information!

have a great day!

Fabian

24mm oval= 30/16. Most oval road stays will fit that shell. There are small differences between the Columbus and Deda shapes, so it may require some extra work.

I haven't played with the fairing stays, but I'm guessing they, like True Temper, are squished ovals with flatter sides. TT stays (the ones Hank lists) are generally a rounder oval they you will need.

This confuses me .. how is 24 oval 30/16mm oval? Doesnt 30/16 mean an oval tube, 30 millimeters high, 16 millimeters wide? That wouldnt be the same as 24 oval .. ?

yes

They start as a 24mm round tube and then are ovalized to 30/16. (or as 22mm round that are ovalized to 26/17)

Ok all clear i get it now, thanks for explaining =) .. so that means any chain stay which is sold as a <24mm oval> will be 30/16mm at the oval part?

Approximately. Every casting house seems to have their own shape port, and every tube mfg has their own shaping method. So- "yes", but expect to have to do some work to get things to fly.
