BMX Frame and build in time lapse video

That's pretty cool. Did you heat treat the frame after all was said and done or no?

No heat treating the frame. Only because 7005 Aluminum does not require it. Actually, this frame is now sitting in my garage not in use. This frame was only to test geometry, pactice welding and practice painting. I have since made the replacement.

Just because the tube are pre heat treated they still need to be after being welded. Check out this link on 7005 for framebuilding.

I have not seen that material before. However, there appears to be a difference in opinion. I am not sure where I read it. But, I have also read that 7005 does not need to be heat treated which is why it is chosed over 6061. I will have to look up the material that i read.

Well it doesn't nessasary need to be heat treated but it needs to be aged. Our own Frank the Welder who does primarily aluminum frames ages his 7005 frames.
