XACD custom Ti Frame, opinions?

So as my dream bicycle is starting to become more reality with more dedication put towards it, one of the question that is arising is the main part, the frame.
I know I want titanium, most likely a CX frame. But I'm stuck on where to go too; I've seen 'Moots' frames, they seem amazing, but, a bit out of my price range for a frame (roughly 4,500 AUD). I'm looking for something $2k<
I've come across XACD frames, they're incredibly cheap for titanium and they're customised. But unlike some of the more well known companies the reviews are, basically worse.
There's some people who love their bicycle, what they expected and then there are the others who have had awful service. Although I like to keep in mind either of these views may be just the tip of the iceberg, there may be thousands of happy customers and a few that weren't and took to the internet.
So I'm just asking for peoples opinions and seeing if anyone has had any experience with this company

I assume firefly is also out of his price range.

I like the looks of the Salsa Ti frames, but I don't know if they are available to the OP

Firefly seems nice, but yes - unfortunately out of my range.
On Salsa Cycles, they seem quite reasonably priced, I might check them out a bit more.
Ti Cyles Fabrication also seem pretty reasonable but on the Habenero brand I've read a couple of times in other forums that they use XACD frames. So XACD seems to be a whole saler and you can buy direct from them, i.e. they take out the middle man, which is why I'm leaning towards them. Although their sister company 'Titan products' has supposed better customer service in comparison to XACD, but, again speculation only, not as good frames. I get the feeling I might stick with one of these, the good thing is it's not too much money if anything goes wrong and they appear to be fairly lax on refunds and replacements.

I thought they drew sarcastic comics, not build Ti frames! https://xkcd.com/

I got a custom fork and bars from them and then discovered this
https://www.pardo.net/bike/pic/fail-001/FAIL-121.html

they seem OK, but they clearly adapt a few straight gauge pipes to everything. The sales guy Porter, can be rude and abrupt. The price is not really quite as they say, I had to wire transfer them the money with no security or accountability, and the bank of china fee was 13% which I only learned when purchasing

I have had two Habanero ti frames and they were both wonderful rides. Zero complaints. Mark is great to deal with and answered all my questions before purchase. The cross frame I had is now in my son's hands as he uses it for cross races and commuting. He is a beast of a rider, no lightweight either and simply loves it. Check them out at habcycles.com.

Chinese built frames that are well made. I build my own frames now so no longer need off the shelf ones, but if it came down to it, yes, I would get a third Habanero if I could no longer build my own!

this is an old thread and it didn't belong here in the first place. I'm closing it
There is a feedback forum if someone had problems with a frame purchase
