..oops, may have screwed up my first lugged joint.

I've been doing some practice joints with spare lugs and felt ready to do my Seat tube/bottom bracket joint. Everything came out very nice, pulled silver all the way through in all areas... but, I don't think I properly fluxed the parts. I fit the parts first, then fluxed everything on the outside. Only later did I realize I probably should have fluxed the parts first so there was flux inside the joint as well. Will this make a weak joint with poor silver adhesion?

I'd say, if the silver pulled through, you're ok. Flux probably flowed down into the joint from the seat tube.

I have to say I don't think you could pull silver all the way through without it adhering to both surfaces, but I'm not really sure about that. I assume you pulled flux into the joint with heat and had the parts really clean anyway. I don't think it's worth worrying about though, if it turns out that the joint wasn't properly done, it is unlikely to fail in a catastrophic way.

Ok, that's good to hear. Yes, parts were clean and I had a fair amount of flux around the joint to start with, so it likely pulled in with the silver. Guess this will be a good test.. Thanks for the replies!
