I have a vintage SR frame that is missing one shifter boss. I can tell that the small rivets and bonding failed at some time in the past. The frame is comparable to the vitus 979 (nicer in my opinion) which is why I bought it even though it is way too big. Can I get the needed part or am I destined to just use clamp on bosses? I plan to sell the frame whether I fix it or not but was wondering if the repair might be easier than I'm thinking. Any suggestions or thoughts would be appreciated.

You may be able to fabricate something for this; e.g. a disk of stainless steel, curved to fit flush against the down tube and onto which a standard shift lever boss is brazed. Some high strength epoxy under the disk, and a couple rivets through the existing holes to hold it in place, and Bob's yer uncle.

This frame isn't exactly a popular one so don't expect much support. The simple but not easy solution is to fab a clamp around lever boss. Good luck. Andy.

There are adhesive stick on guides that use a Zip Tie to hold down the Housing (or the Hydraulic Hose Run)

JDTs suggestion is a Perfect Solution , if you wish to fit Down Tube shifters. A silver solder will join the stainless Steel Disc curved to match the Tube ,

and the Common steel of the typical Shifter braze on (it will be Unseen once the Shift lever is assembled , and Only the stainless disc will be seen) .

Epoxy and pop-rivets will make it very solid.... and will enhance the resale Value ..

if I were doing that, I would make an adapter for a standard braze-on post. Since it will be glued, the fit doesn't have to be that good.
