Has anyone ridden one? Are they harder or easier to maintain? Are they smooth, quiet and good performers??? My LBS doesn't have any
Tried one out at the Chicago Bike show. 32 lbs including suspension front fork is not that heavy. Rode fine, felt smooth, no drag. It was mated to the nexus 7 speed hub which has a great range. I would consider using one as a year-round commuter. No chain marks on my pants. No rusted out chains.

The Nexus 7 hub is just about the most inefficient device I've ever used. I can just imagine how more inefficient it could be with a mechanical drive on top of it!
Everybody keeps implying the same. I feel like the bumble bee that isn't supposed to fly. My commuter bike, my touring bike, and 3 of my kids' bikes all use that hub. And I have two more waiting to be built up. I guess I'll assume it's making me stronger. When I get the new touring bike built up (conventional rear derailer) I may have to drag a chute to simulate the same feeling.

That's an awesome deal. Just the Nexus hub lists for $159.95. Is there a brand name or a seller I could use to search for one?

Have you ever used it in freezing weather? I'm thinking this would be a good winter bike if I put a disc brake on the front. Around here, we get a lot of weather that is right around freezing and a lot of icing. Often my derailleurs ice up and I end up with a de facto single-speed, which is really the last thing I need going up hills in the ice.

Isn't the Outback 7-speed and this one a 3-speed? But they're probably made in the same factory.

I asked the seller ...

You asked:
"Hi there .. I'm just wondering why your bike looks exactly like the "Outback" that is being sold at https://www.dynamicbicycles.com -- any info is appreciated."

Yes, It is possible that from the same manufacturer 8 speed. $749 They make a lot of profit.

I noticed today that College Park Bicycles, which is well-respected, is carrying the Dynamic. I have to get over there and try it out.

I wasn't impressed by the lame ass Incline models we had at the shop. They were heavier than their chain driven counter parts didn't ride as nice, and in general weren't worth the money for us to make a profit on them. They are a step above a Land Rider I'll give them that much

was going to complain that a rear flat tire essentially strands you for a week, but Dynamics design seems to be end user removable with simple tools . however this itself raises concern about drivetrain sealing and durability, watching the wheel removal video it is clear the gear was not inside a sealed oil bath...

whoops zombie

I actually had one to back up my opinion, a rarity on these shaft-drive threads
That iteration of Dynamic/Incline has a built in design flaw. Ive posted on it many times before. Basically, the bottom bracket and bevel gear on the end of the shaft are far too under-engineered(?) to be useful, long term. Recently, Dynamic appears to have beefed it considerably, correcting all of the issues I had with mine. On the one I had, I feel the shaft would last indefinitely but for the aforementioned bevel gear. IF Dynamic and the maker of the shaft assembly have fixed the flaws of the first version, I think it would be a very nice alternative to chains, which Im all for
