What do you NOT like about cycling?
 

Okay, okay, for all you nuts that are tempted to say "nothing!", I get it. You're bike loving maniacs and I understand completely.

But I'm curious to know what gripes and drawbacks any of you have about the cycling lifestyle.

Come on, tell me what annoys you, what irks you, what bores you, what you could easily do without...

Well here in the US my biggest cycling issue is all the a holes in cars. At least once a day I get buzzed by a buss, truck or SUV. The cycling itself is great.

Just the time involved.
I'd like to ride 2 hrs or more in the morning.
Because I won't ride before dark, day light doesn't come early enough.

I can't believe how overpriced bicycle accessories and clothing are. C'mon $40, 60, 80 for shorts or a jersey that's ½ yd of polyester fabric sewed up in a third world country. I spend less on my winter carhart work clothing with numerous times the fabric and sewing, not to mention shipping cost. And they charge you even more to advertise on it, some of them would put a NASCAR stock car to shame. $40 for a rack that is 5 feet of alumininum tube with a dozen bends and 4 welds. I do find and purchase deals but can't believe some of the off the rack prices. Just my rant.

Wind, Drivers who pay no attention on cell phones, Drivers who don't give me any room, Drivers who ride my butt, People walkin on the trail who can't seem to move even though they hear me yell, People who ride and take up the trail, or give no notification of passing me, Actually getting all my gear together and making it to the road, Rain, Overpriced gear such as gloves. I think that's it

Just bugs. I can't stand the bugs. I'd like to get a ten foot tall, six foot wide bug zapper and dangle it in front of my bike somehow.

Other than that, I love biking.

Traffic, I can deal with. Brain dead, cell phone users I can deal with. Wind, cold, rain, snow, heat I can deal with. Small mammals running under my wheels :eek: , messy, but I can deal with it. Pain, I can deal with. Work interferring with riding, I can deal with. Cost of bike stuff, I can deal with. But the one thing that I absolutely hate about bicycling is having to deal with the terrible Tribulus terrestris.

Oh, and the general lack of pie in the US.

Everything listed above. When I'm commuting, normal clothes are fine, but for any type of distance, I really notice the differnce between cycling clothes and street clothes. Clothingis just too darn expensive (especially anything designed for cold weather). Bugs are only truly annoying if your not wearing glasses...

Troll: If you going to whine about wind, you might as well add hills to the list too...

When things break.
Flat tires.
How depressed I feel when I haven't been riding.

Hills I don't like, but I can deal with...Wind is something that can totally mess with your ride, like tomorrow there will be a 20 mile headwind for 1/2 my trip, and then a 15 mile tailwind or so for the ride back, due to when I'm riding...so it's going to totally suck balls riding into the wind. :D

Wind and hills are not the same! Both we have in abundance in CO!

I hate trying to explain my passion to a non-cyclist. Even when "THEY" ask!

Fear of being run over by a car.
Price of equipment.

WIND, WIND, WIND, oh did I say WIND??? Besides the wind I also hate rude drivers. I'm not taking up that much room dummy and don't honk at me just cause you feel the need to scare the crap out of me.
