Any Fit Kit experiences?
I'm in the market for a new bike. It's going to be my all-around road bike, used for commuting, fitness, centuries, and light touring. I am looking at a bunch of options, all steel, some lugged, some TIG'd. I might buy from my LBS, or I might order a frame and have my LBS build it up. My LBS uses Fit Kit software and the Fitmaster System(?). I can pay them to put me through the system and take my measurements(it's free if I buy from them). I'm assuming this would be helpful whether I buy from them or not, but I'm looking for people's experiences with the Fit Kit. If you had it done, did the fit you received work for you? If not, how much fine tuning did you have to do? I know I want to be comfortable over all else--I have hand numbness problems and I'm looking to alleviate that. Any experiences?

I have had pro fits on several bikes, and I find them very valuable. The fine tuning can really make a difference in comfort, not to mention injury prevention. I ended up changing the stem on one of my bikes, and it made a huge difference. I highly recommend pro fits.

Three years ago, I go my bike via mail order. I had my lbs put it together, plus had a bike fit. They did not use a computerized fit kit, but he did set me up on a trainer and used a collection of plumb lines and "protractors". It was very scientific. It cost me maybe $25 bucks. It is the best thing I ever did. Despite the fact that I ignored "common sense" and initiated a 4-day ride on a new saddle, I was pleased with the fit. (Only my bottom was sorry). There are so many new fit systems available now. I would go for it.
