Deerflies
I ride a 13 mile rural trail absolutely infested with deerflies. I tried those sticky patches, and look what I caught on my helmet on ONE ride.

I've tried to outrun them and some will just draft in your slipstream, waiting for a slow down.

I hate those things. I remember being absolutely tormented by them while trying to fix a trailside flat, being bitten up to the point of bleeding. Awful.

Take care with those things. Their bites can produce allergic reaction in susceptible people up to and including anaphylactic shock. There's reason for the epi-pen in my saddle bag.

They love to buzz around behind where you cant see them. Nasty little buggers.
