Well, from the perspective of a dealer, no. Specialied, Trek, and Klein don't allow their dealers to sell online, so that's my first red flag. If you really want to try buying a bike from Portugal and have faith that you'll actually get it, much less have warranty recourse in the US, go for it. $200 shipping sure keeps those prices reasonable too.

If they don't respond to you as a potential customer, how do you feel they'd perform if there were a problem?

I recieved the follwoing e-mail today. It sounds somewhat fishy.
__________
"Dear Customer,

For Specialized S-Works Epic Disc 2005 we have all this sizes:M,L and
XL.Don't get me wrong but I never used escrow.com service . I made even a contract with safesolutionsgroup in order to pay less taxes .Actually this service works exactly like escrow.com services.I used this service several times and everything was just fine.Everything was just fine.My customers received the merchandise in time and I received the money the same .
From this reason I don't want to use something different.I've heard about some fake services but I can assure you that in our deal it isn't the case for such things .
Please understand me that I need to sell my bike and also I have many questions from different clients . From this reason I need your answer.

Customer Service,
www.2005bicycles.com"

Take your money elsewhere. That safesolutionsgroup is most likely a scam, let's do some digging and see what we can come up with
safesolutionsgroup.com is registered to:
Gerald Lyons
80 25th Street West
Billings Mt.
Phone: 406-245-5412
Okay, so it is regered under an american name/company.
When I call that number I get a fax machine, not a telephone.

But on their website they have their contact information as being located in Spain, this throws up a big red flag in my book. How come a company, based in Spain, has a website that supposedly tailors to "the world" but is only in one language and is regestered to a name in a differant country.

A little further searching I decided to do a search for the address listed above and came up with a differant company name all together, Summers McNea & Company PC. I gave them a call and asked politely, "is this a multi office building or are you the only ones located in it". The nice lady at the other end said, it's a small building with just a handfull of us here. I asked if she had ever heard of Gerald Lyons or Safe Solutions Group, she politely said no, then we said our good-byes.

So in 5 minutes I've proved to myself that this is a 100% scam.

Yah um... DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE PEOPLE. It could just be coincidence but I saw a bike of the same name listed on craigslist in Fresno for only $550. I emailed them and they said they were Germans working out of Hungary or Budapest or something and so I could not see the bike. They had TERRIBLE grammar/English and it was obviously a scam. Their listing was just removed from the craigslist website, to boot.

i'll run like the wind. I figuered out myself now that the bikecompany itself is supposedly based in Lisbon, Portugal. A search on their adress was a waste of time. The website 2005bicycle.com is registered some Robert Tarabella of Fairhope, AL. But the website does not mention any names or contact-adresses. It must be obviously scam. Thanx to all of you for your help!

CHECK THIS OUT!

I googled one name on the last page of the "glowing reviews"

I came up with the exact same glowing reviews on another site selling Mobily things:

https://2005bicycles.com/reviews.php?page=34
https://www.mobilessmart.com/reviews.php

the two sites are laughingly identical. And the feedback is obviously swiped off of ebay where people have a 40 word limit or something. Then I decided to find the page where those where take from and that is here:

https://feedback.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAP...&iid=-1&de=off

They appear to be taken from someone who sells videos, if you read some of the feedback. The ebayer the feedback was taken from is "mp-presents" if the link from above doesn't work, check out that users feedback, select 200 views per page then go to page 17 and see the same names and feedback from the 2005bicycles.com page of feedback.

Those two sites were registered three days apart with people's names that probably mean nothing. But the phone numbers used for registration of both of them are actually numbers used for dial-up access to the internet; which sounds like a fax machine.
