That's one day I didn't skip in the gym. Some try leg day only to quit because of how demanding it is. It paid off for me as at 50 years old I have strong legs from hitting the squat rack every week, among other leg routines.

I don't do leg day.

...But that's because I squat every time I lift (3 times a week).

I find full body routines where I hit every muscle 3 times a week to be much better than doing 20 sets that work out a particular muscle group once a week.

But to each his own.

I'm glad that works for you. I started following Branch Warren's method of getting in 600 reps on leg day. Yes 600. Of course there was no way I could push the weight he pushed but I saw it as a challenge and did it. He hit 300 extensions in sets of 100 then hit the rack. I did breathing squats to get there then hit leg curls to end it. It worked.

Those guys above have -- as Will Smith called them in Independence Day -- "chicken legs".

There is a condition some people have where they have naturally poor circulation to the lower legs, and weight or fitness training doesn't make any difference. It occurs in both men and women. There's plenty of plastic surgery info online about it.

A lot of the guys who get calf implants are the ones who didn't know they had this problem until they started lifting weights, and they find that they can't get their calves to grow at all.
