Fuji Thrill SE with a triangular NUT on both front and back

I just acquired a pre 2006 Fuji Thrill SE and it needs a new back tire. Problem is, both the front and back tire seem to have a triangular shaped nut (as security?) before you can remove anything. In 53 years, this is the first time I have seen this nut. A google search for FUJI and triangle nut (or triangular nut) doesnt give any meaningful results....which surprises me....I have all kinds of tools, but this is not one of them.

At KCtoolco.com I am able to find 6 different sized nut drivers but dont really need to purchase all 6...since only one appears needed. AND this might NOT be the right tool.

Any thoughts or suggestions or experience...

Thanks from a true NEWBIE......

Can you please post a clear picture of this nut/rear triangle area on the bike? I am assuming that this bike is either single speed or fixed gear?

More info....and pix to fillow.

Working on the pix.

Actually appears to me to be 24 speed....3 main and 8 on the back wheel.

And I should have said BOLT in the previous post....it doesnt appear to be a nut, although likely the same tool would be used for turning in the bolt or off the nut...Also there is a protector half globe (or so) around the head...so the tool needs to fit on the triangle, but be small enuff to fit inside the 'protector.' So I am guessing this is some kinda security setup. As mentioned, it is on both the front hub and the rear hub.

The poster below has something similar.....the tool company quoted has 6 different sized tools for a triangular "fastener." I was just a bit surprised it is unmentioned anywhere on the net connected with FUJI (or any bicycle that I can find).

I am having problems getting pix showing any detail due to the limitations of the camera at such short distance....(autofocus and macro)...but will see if I can get something posted....thanks to all.

Thanks to everyone for your help and time....[obvious newbie.]

It's most likely an aftermarket modification done by a previous owner. Until we see pictures, we can only speculate.

This appears to be the type of driver...processs of elimination...but 6 different sizes exist. So I may have to purchase all 6...the outside of the bolt head seems to be about 8 mm on a side. Still working on pix, but since I now know this is non-standard, I am probably up to trial and error.....and some more tools for the toolbox. Thanks again for everyone;s help.

Paid Dearly.

OUCH....guess I had to pay for that one...

Well done..

The good news is....when you hit 54....you forget a few of those...Bill Callahan made it much easier (to forget)..

Best to you and the BUFFs....hope we BOTH do something in the new conferences..

BTW, they do sell the tool, $5 + $6 handling....so I appreciate the info....and the jab.

Man, I used to look forward to that game all year. Drink beer, eat leftovers and watch football.

Ah, the good old days.
