Do you have an "action camera" on your bike/helmet?

Hi,

In my 1 year of riding I had encountered a few angry and impatient people that I wish I had a camcorder when they passed me. I haven't ridden for months due to the hot weather here, but it's getting better now so I'm back to using my ebike.

I was wondering how common action cameras are for cyclists, and what is the recommended placement if you only have a single camera?

Bikes: This list got too long: several ‘bents, an urban utility e-bike, and a dahon D7 that my daughter has absconded with.

I recently got a Drift Stealth 2 and placed it on the left side of my helmet. I haven't posted any ride videos.; my rides are pretty boring.

Yes, using a motorcycle camera https://shop.pier28.com/index.php/da...-pro-wifi.html

Here is a sample vid from yesterday: https://youtu.be/XJG1rv2BQvs Set youtube to 1080p

I have the cheaper non-wireless model, the BikerMate and it's weather resistant. I keep the camera and a usb powerpack in a water bottle so it's portable from bike to bike. It also uses standard GoPro accessories which is nice for availability. With a 4000mah powerpack and the onboard 850mah batteries, I get well over 3 hours. I have not stretched it to see just how long but it's decent for my needs.

I have an HD hero. Used it once on the bike, but I didn't like the idea of having something else to remember to charge. But I work in tech and I bike to get away from anything 'tech' so I'm a bit of a loon about these things

I mounted it in the middle of the handlebars. Older model seemed a bit heavy for the helmet. The video of the ride came out fine, although boring.
I know fly6 makes cameras hidden in head light and tail light. Never used though, I can't vouch for them.

I carry a Point and Shoot camera.

Did not like the Time that Video takes to process.

Well, I ordered a Xiaomi Yi. It seems to be as good as a GoPro Hero 3, which is good enough for my needs. It even does 1080 at 60 fps and 2K at 30 fps.

I'm still considering whether to get a helmet mount or a handlebar/seatpost mount. Maybe if I place the camera on the seatpost it will deter some drivers from getting too close to me?

No, I don't. Of course, I completed a coast-to-coast bike ride and took less than two rolls of photos on the old style point and shoot camera....

Yes, I use a helmet camera. Now it's Drift Stealth 2. On the top. And I really enjoy riding with it because sometimes happens to record something interesting. And the camera is really small and light, so doesn't distract me.

Yes. Usually it's mounted on my handlebars, but have recently begun experimenting with it on my helmet.

I have a 4 year old ContourGPS that I use once in a while.
Just got a Polaroid Cube; didn't get a chance to play with it yet.
For a single camera; I would suggest helmet mounting.
