I have a bit of a fascination with bicycles, so I do enjoy checking out what others are riding - not to judge, but out of interest.
At a group ride about a week ago there was a guy that had a bike with a purple/yellow color combo.
I thought it looked bright, but cool.
After the ride I noticed that it was a "Gravity" brand or something like that. The guy said it used to be a hybird that he put drop bars on. I noticed he had a Shimano Sora rear deraileur (sp?).
The bike seemed to weigh about 30 lbs.
Still, the guy was a fast rider and a horse. If that's what he chooses to ride, that's cool!

Sure, a bike has to function properly according to the task(s) at hand, but many riders still find form to be important to them. Nothing wrong with that!
But what is considered "hot or not" will differ between people.
I know, right?
My most used commuter bike:
Well, at least it was most used until I bought this cheap bikes direct fixed gear!:
Judge away!

This is my other Huffy. It's a road bike with upgrades and I took the time to purchase replacement parts that match the theme of the bike. Sure, I might have $90 invested for matching tires, bar tape, and saddle, but it was worth it. Peoplesee this bike and at first think it's an expensive bike or a brand new bike, but it's just the opposite...........
Sorry, but you get 15 points deducted because your brake hoods and cable housing are black ----

You need to do something about those pedals not matching with the rest of the crank. You know better than having black pedal on chrome crancks

Only things that bother me with other people's bikes are fit/adjustment issues and mechanical/maintenance issues. It bothers me to see a person riding a bike with the seat way too low, or struggling with under-inflated tires and squeaky chains, because I know a much better ride is possible. It also bothers me to see poor quality construction, like crimped instead of welded frames:

Both look ok to me. Can't imagine you dragged another forum members bike pictures from another thread into this thread. You didn't trash it over there, why do it here?

Maybe not. To me, the bike should be photo'd in the riders normal start up gear. (whatever that is) ...bike ready to go! The common roadie practice of putting it in the highest gear is ridiculous, because one would never start off in that gear. Instead they would have to make cumbersome shifts before or as they started to ride. Goofy, I say!

Unless you can drop me then I don't care what you ride and if you can drop then it doesn't matter what you are riding.

I just remembered I am a commuter, so how my bike looks is irrelevant to me. If I where a road racer maybe I would be worry about having every single thing on my bike matching.
Going Aero might not be the only reason for drop down bars, see on this picture the stem is pretty high but the bar selection could have been to have more options to handle the bike on long rides.

What brand of bike is this? Never seen a double top tube. Sorry for the thread hijack.

Describing your preferences and dislikes in general is one thing, ****ting on another forum member is bad form. They have better manners in the SS/FG forum, fer crissakes.

I agree that I may have been out of line on using a current pic from another BF member on this thread and not having anything nice to say about it. I did not mean to insult anyone here and I should have used a random pic from Google, so I apologize for that.
I get ribbed on a lot here, but I know it's all in good fun and maybe that's why I did not think it would mean any harm.
