You can then see who target shops the mailing list to. I've also got a generic "user+ProbablySpam@gmail.com" version with a filter that assigns a "ProbablySpam" label. I go through the emails with that label, saving receipts and privacy policies, and hitting "UNSUBSCRIBE" on the other types of email.
Holy crap, that actually works. Wild. Gracias.

How's that work if you choose to use a credit card to pay for the items?

Doesn't work - internet forum bluffing. That or credit card is always denied and he has never actually completed a transaction.

I have a Performance Bike email in my inbox. At the bottom is "click to unsubscribe from future emails" option.

It works fine. You swipe a card, and the terminal captures the necessary info to complete the sale. But that has nothing to do with the name taken and entered by the store clerk for the store's database. (talking about in store sales here, not mail order)

Most times the card never leaves your hands or the clerks don't ask for and compare your name to that on the card. If they do, I give my real name as it appears on the card, but not correct address or phone info.

Think about it for a moment, how many times that you've used your credit card in the last week or month has anyone asked your name? Gas station pumps ask for your zip code, but I suspect that's the only place you do anything besides swipe and scrawl some kind of signature.

Sorry, I thought we were talking about an on-line credit card transaction.

Just two days ago I was ordering some items from an online store. I accidentally transposed two numbers in my home address. At checkout I got an error message and had to call an 800 number to correct my address before transaction could be completed. And all order receipts and tracking info goes to my email address. This info really not optional if doing online shopping.

Of course I can buy gasoline for my car my just swiping my card. Sometimes the reader asks for my zip code, but thats it.

I use a secondary e-mail address that I only look at once every few days. Mostly mass delete everything.
