Empty your bladder before riding. Same difference.

Aside from being structurally weaker and more prone to failure if adequate torque is used...now "problems" at all. And the mentioned seizing tendencies

Go on a diet for a week and you'll lose more weight than with Al and Ti parts.

Since none of the first posters above are hypocrites, they all ride bikes that weigh at least 30 pounds.

The principal reason for having a light bike for most is enjoying the intellectual appreciation of it, not any practical difference it might make while riding. So while emptying ones bladder or bowels, or dieting my have a greater effect on performance, they do nothing for the weight of the bike.

I've always wondered why some of my riding partners obsess about saving weight on their bikes, yet carry 2 full water bottles (at a pound apiece) on short rides.
