hub dynamo connectors
is there anybody here that uses the shimano & schmidt hub dynamos? i have a shimano hub on my old road bike & i use the nexus automatic light switch & it works awesome! i never have to turn on the lights as they come on automatically. i was wondering if the schmidt hubs have a different connector than the shimano hubs. i would have to use a schmidt hub for my mountain bike that accepts disc brakes, & i want to use the nexus switch with the schmidt hub, but i don't know if the nexus switch will plug into the schmidt as it might have a different connector...

The problem you might have is that the SON has an external earth terminal. The Shimano has an earth built into the body of the dynamo and therefore the whole bike frame becomes an earth terminal. It's not an insoluable problem -- a small jumper lead from a SON terminal on to the fork does the same thing.

Basically, the SON uses metric u-shaped connectors (I hope it's the right term).
You should buy a set of connectors with some wire, then connect the automatic switch to that wire, then connect the light to the connectors (female connectors necessary?)
