If I had to pick one, it might be Bikewagon. Tree Fort, Bicycle Buys and Texas Cycle Sport are also good.

Do they pay return shipping costs? It's not the time, it's the expense I'd worry about. It's a little different shipping something back from the US to Germany instead of some place like Michigan.

In the USA I usually order from Nashbar, Jenson USA and Amazon (usually for stuff they have on Prime). From the UK Chain Reaction and Merlin.

Performance Bike are OK, but recently have bad info about their stock levels on their website. I've ordered stuff from them and suddenly it's backordered, despite the website indicating it's still in stock, even days later. For example this:

Clement X'Plor MSO Cyclocross Tire 700 x 40

Says "Only 2 left!". If they were true, why don't they ship those 2 tires to me, as my order (for 2 tires) is currently languishing in "back order" hell!

Depends on why, they have their policies on their websites.

As of now, I be in attempt to cancel an item to an international Ebay Seller (UK). To send it back, once it be received. As i sent the seller a message. It be too soon as of yet, to have received a reply. As the item has not been received, the package has not been opened. In any kind of business, sellers hate packages to be received --- that were opened by customers. Ebay used to have a more liberal attitude for its customers --- in that the customer was in priority over the seller. It seem, via my calls to Ebay c.s. about this return that I demand: that Ebay is highly swayed with the seller. Be it that I open the package, and return it --- I have to pay the international shipping. Which makes the return useless. As the seller charged $14.-- shipping. One of those types of sellers that I will luck out on -- if he gives any feedback at all.

Bikes: A few older US made Cannondales, a modern Soma Saga (no longer made, alas!), and one gifted crabon Specialized. Never enough.

I just accept that I will not be making returns, as I assume the return shipping would be too expensive. I have ordered tires mostly, but also pedals and mirrors (Busch and Mueller, which are not easy to find in the US). Definitely not clothing although I have picked up some replacement shoes I knew would fit.

If I find an item of interest in North America ... either they don't ship to Australia or if they do, the shipping cost is very high.

Australia have more uniqueness in the sport of motor racing, than in the industry or sport of cycling. I remember in the 1980s, when Australia made its peaktime in motor racing.

Lots of shops posted I never heard of before.

USA

Bikewagon(On ebay also)
Performance
Nashbar
Ebay

UK
Merlin
CRC

I would avoid Ribble.New owners and website and bad CS.

Middle of the day for Machka, but middle of the night for the US. I stopped using Nashbar when they were hacked and didn't bother telling their customers for 6 months. Shipping had gotten horribly spotty anyway. I've pretty much stopped using PerformanceBike just because of their corporate relationship with Nashbar. There's lots of online places left after eliminating those, though. I often use the online recumbent specialty shops that you wouldn't care about, along with PricePoint and TreeFort Bikes (they're sort of local to me.) My last order was from Amazon.

I haven't had any issues with any online shop I've done business with over the years, in fact I've had more problems with LBS's. I usually use Amazon who then in turn link me up to several different online bike stores like Performance, Nashbar, Competitive Cyclist, Niagara, Price Point, etc. After I get linked to a place or two I then look to see if anyone has free shipping, and then look for an online coupon code and see which place I get it cheaper.

No surprise to hear about Ribble cycles; whenever a company changes a website, prices will change. When prices change, that leads to more.

If you just have an old clunker bike that just needs basic inexpensive parts Niagra Cycle is good. They are definitely the go to parts dealer for 70's & 80's vintage road bikes.

Anyone here been a repeat customer of a local business, and later found to have received higher prices their than expected?
That be of what I found of Bikewagon, when I searched for an item.
Seems no longer the cheapest.

Which online company will sell an item, AT THE PRICE FOUND AT. AS SO LONG YOU TELL THE DATE & PRICE FOUND AT. As I had reported this to one of the above, well-like names: who meantime changed their price during my time to begin the order. The company would NOT give ME the price that I found the item at. That be a way to lose a customer.
The liquid item was less than $20.00.

Everytime I see these pop-up ads appear between (and then on the bottom) these threads --- in this chat:
that reminds me more like political endorsement.
Especially during such a year as this.

You sound like one who owns a California business. As California-owned bike shop owners spoke that way to Me before.

Nope, not a business owner. Just trying to set the record straight about the true cost of internet vs LBS sales.

Just a word about on-line shopping, as mentioned earlier in the thread. I made my first upgrade purchase today (2 tires and 2 tubes) from Competitive Cyclist. 30 minutes after I hit the buy button, I received an email that said Your order has shipped and here's your tracking number. That beat any on-line ordering I have done in the last few years by a good bit. Pretty fast.

2 day shipping too.
