I broke my double-dinger
I broke my incredibell putting the bike in the car. It's a single pull double ding brass.
Is it fixable? How do I get into it without a pair of channel locks and a sledge hammer?

I have no idea what you're talking about but I'm thinking it's not what I got when I Googled "double-dinger" and if it is this isn't the right forum.

I disassembled a similar bell to find out why it didn't ding very well. If yours is assembled like mine, you tease off that plastic cap on top, to reveal a splined rivet that you can pull out. I got it out by sneaking the tips of a pair of diagonal cutters under the head of the rivet and prying upwards. The pin just presses back in when you're done. Mine still doesn't ding very well.

Frankly, how much is your time worth? Thing's only $11, after all.

A dead double-dinger is about as good as a dead dingo's donger...

I think it's the spring mechanism. I can manually make it work by pulling it back then pushing it forward but that's like two single dings.
I have bought a single dinger to get me by whenever the mood strikes and I know these dang things are only 10 bucks or so but I just want to play with my dinger to see if I can fix it.

The top should pull off with a bit of force. Then you can figure how to get the innards back in the right place. Chances are that nothing is broken, but a spring or one of the plastic pieces has come adrift.
