back in riding.

Today i go for ride. I do 20 miles in hilly bike trail. have hills but have downhills too. Elevation is from 700 feet to 900 feet. I not have this ride for around 3 years. My average speed is was 9 miles. The bike i ride is weight 27 pounds. old steel road bike. I have chainrings 50/40. Cassete i have 8 speeds 12-30. In flats spots my speed is 20 miles that without i push the pedal real hard sometimes i past that i go 22 miles. Now when i was on hills my speed is go down in 5 miles. # times is hard to pedal i deside to get down of the bike and walk some. # years ago before i stop ride i used do that 20 miles almost every day. With different bikes. Today i know i not warm up i go straight do the 20 miles. Is happens times in hills i had cramp in my legs. Do you think is happens i had cramps and walk in hills because i am not have ride for so long time or is beacause my bike is be too heavy and slow me down in hills?

You know the answer already.

Give your legs a day to rest and do it all again ... and again .... and again ....
