Not professional biker
Hi
I found this site and was wondering if this is only for professional bikers forum?
I joined this forum because maybe biking can help lose weight and get fit.

Welcome. We are amateurs here. Some older than others and some also race at the amateur level. There are very helpful sub-forums on nutrition and weight loss with much useful information for health issues. Poke around in the sub-forums and ask questions.

No, this is not a for racers or for professional cyclist forum. Although many members do/have compete(d), many of the members here are just casual or enthusiast riders. And while some of the postings can seem a bit raw, it's all in fun. Enjoy your stay here.

Welcome! Biking is a great way to lose weight and get fit, and bikeforums is a great site to learn about biking. It doesn't have to be expensive, and there's no one way to do things right. Even if all you need is encouragement, this is the place. Good luck, ride safely and go, Go, GO!

What? You mean a $10 prime and a bottle of wine doesn't negate my amateur status?

Real cycling pros don't waste their time posting on cycling forums. Only amateurs and wannabes hang out on internet forums.

I'd be shocked if there was a current professional cyclist posting on BF.
it's primarily a haven for people who ride hybrids, 'bents, and hate anyone in 'kit'...

I have a hybrid hanging neglected in the garage; I ride 'bents. I dislike people named Kit.

Not ever Paid to Ride them. Fix them, owned by others , OK Min Wage and no masseur at the end of the day , just a Bartender.
messengers get paid piecework to deliver stuff, just happens to use a tool called a bike.. etc.

Yes, ride more, eat less. I am trying to do the same as you. Some results in the last couple weeks. Broke the 200 pound barrier yesterday! Celebrated by eating too much pizza. So it's back on the bike to work that off. Trying to get down to 190.
