Videos of bonking and hitting the wall.

I know there are vids of jumping, hucking, bloopers, race clips, crashes and so on for every sport in existance.
I am looking for one of people bonking or hitting the wall in long races, cyclists, runners, or triathletes.

I want it so I can show people what bonking is. I know quite a few people who have no concept of what this is or that a person could just have an off switch like that.

Check out the latest Gatorade commercial that showed triathlete Chris Legh bonking 50m from the finish line of the 1997 Ironman. It looked really horrid. Apparently he almost died.

Quote:
At the 1997 Ironman Triathlon World Championship in Hawaii, Chris' body shut down completely causing him to collapse 50 meters short of the finish line. During the race, he was unable to keep any fluids or food down and had become so dehydrated throughout the day, that many of his organs stopped working. Upon arrival at the hospital, doctors realized they had to operate immediately to save Chris' life.

Watching that hurts me more than watching the "mtb cyclist takes an endo" vids. Wow.

yea thats close but dehydration was a large factor there, not a pure bonk in otherwords, I don't really need pure bonks but yea anyway, yadda yadda yadda. That commercial is what sparked this idea in the first place.

Julie Moss at the Ironman in the early eighties. Probably the image of triathlon most people remember the best. I have it on video, I'm not sure where you could get it online.

BTW "bonking" is also UK (espec. tabloids) slang for sex - be careful what you wish for

Yeah I have seen a few of these "bonking" videos. Some involve walls.

CHEERS.
