Newbie looking for suggestions..
Greetings,
I'm a newbie to this forum and in fact to road biking in general.
Straight to the point...I'm in the market for a road bike and am willing to spend up to $1000
I'm a rank beginner and so know not what to look for when doing research on the best bike for the $.
At the moment I'm looking at the Giant OCR 1 and the Specialized Sequoia and Specialized Allez Elite.
Any suggestions on making the right choice?
If not, any suggestions on good websites that would help to educate me?
Thanks in advance, Clark

The Specialized is by far the best as far as group of comp that comes with bike for the money. I am personaly a Cannondale man but this is a rock solid bike and is what I would go with if it feels good when you sit on it.

No, its not. The OCR1 is a much more performance oriented bike than the Sequoia, and is lighter and better equipped for the money. My money would go to the OCR1 if you feel it fits you well. Giant spec's excellent parts at that pricepoint. (I sell both)

I would say that these bikes are VERY similar in components. The GIANT has ALEX wheels which I aboslutely hate...(I've had customers with bad experiences with several of their lower end wheelsets). Both bikes are mostly Shimano 105...I don't know much about the Xero Wheelsets on the Specialized.
So in my opinion is FIT. Getted fitted and test ride them both...My guess is that they should be priced pretty close...so whichever feels better...
