How much money would make you stop?

I was cycling to work this morning in light traffic and spotted 20 cents on the side of the road. I just kept on going.

There's a 5 cent piece at an intersection that I've been passing for days and I wouldn't bother stopping for it.

If I saw a dollar or two dollar coin I'd probably stop to grab it. If I spotted a note I'd certainly stop.

How much money would it take to stop you for a few seconds?

$10,000. Cash. Unmarked bills in small denominations. Basically, enough scratch to buy another bike with or to launder. ;)

Half a penny...

Found money is the best kind. I'd slap on the brakes hard for anthing resembling a quarter, or more. :o

eh, a quarter is too little.

I live in Cali, gotta be a high roller:D

i think dang near any silver coin would get me to stop, assuming i wasn't late already.

Dewbert 05-24-05 07:37 PM

$5

I'll stop for a penny unless I'm really hauling. Not because I'm that strapped for cash, but because it reminds me to be thrifty.

im cheap, 5 cents or more. I do that a lot, i find coins and just stick em in the pocket and by the end of the week sometimes i make almost 1 dollar!

PWRDbyTRD 05-24-05 08:03 PM

depends how fast I'm going, if I've got a good pace going, we're talking 20 dollar bills or bigger, otherwise $1 or larger for a plain ride, quarters if I'm already at a red light :D

Boudicca 05-24-05 08:09 PM

I remember seeing a number of coins -- probably over a dollar -- just before the really steep bit of a very, very long hill. There was no earthly way I was going to stop and have to start again at that stage so I didn't. Now if it had been a $50 bill it would have been a completely different story.

Anything shiny.

I stop for CDs, jewlery, the occaisional odd thing, and nekkid wimmuns. Everything else can be picked up by somebody else.

...amazingly with how forgetful people are, you don't seem to find many nekkid wimmuns sitting around the road....isn't that odd?

Many years ago my brother used to toss quarters into urinals at bar bathrooms. He says they were always gone an hour or so later when he returned.

Speaking finding money, I haven't found any riding yet, but back in high school I used to find, $1's, $5's $10's, all the time, pretty sweet.

A couple winters ago my girlfriend and I were riding along a causeway trail at night when we ran through what we thought was glass strewn about on the trail. (at least that's what it sort of sounded like) We stopped and turned back to find about $8 in change (mostly pennies, nickels and dimes)
