always a pleasure to see how some decide to wave their true colors.

You seem to be making a lot of mistakes lately. Perhaps you need a break.

I'm not sure how indirectly speaking of attraction to the opposite gender in the mildest way possible falls under that definition.
Why wasn't it said about both men and women?

If there are a few people that are insulted by it, and it's against the forum guildelines, then it's not cool. Usually, since that falls under violating a guideline, that can be cause for an infraction or ban, depending upon what the moderators agree upon.

Maybe the moderators should start sticking to protocol, then none of this would be happening.

You're basically saying that if he displayed attraction to males and females then it would be okay. He went into no detail, he said nothing disrespectful. This is simply mind boggling. The forum rules need to be updated and go into specificity of the new definition of sexist so we can all make sure we walk on eggshells and properly toe the line.

Perhaps he doesn't find the men as "attractive," if you know what I mean?

Just thinkin' out loud.

One would think a Women-Specific forum would violate the site's sexism policy.

Yes, but because of protocol, I won't go into it here publicly. If you'd like, we can pm though and discuss it.

Please dont' take what I said as such. What my point was, is why did he even have to say it and insult other members? But you are right. Maybe I should not have said anything and followed protocol. I was just trying be nice before the moderation team got to action. I can always change that and let that happen. But he may not be too happy about it.

You got a point there. But still, people don't like that and that is why they feel offended. It's like a cat call while going down the street. It's not fun for the target.

I understand they probably think I'm some competitive jerk, but I can't stop and explain to every guy "this is why I'm passing". Just thought I'd share. Any similar experiences?

It's a natural reaction and probably you jarred them from their thoughts temporarily. This happens to me. Biking can put me in a far away place which is part of the appeal. When I get passed the first reaction is surprise and the second is that perhaps I am going to slow.

at some point, all this discussion is projecting.
It's just like driving down the road, sometimes you pass, some times you get passed - maybe by the same person you recently passed.
As long as everything is done safely, no one's teeth is skinned.

Fact is anything someone says another person can find insulting if they try hard enough. Seems like tolerance only goes one way these days with many.

Someone states the obvious in a non derogatory way about something that ensures our survival as a species and they are supposed to be wrong********** Jeesh!

Sometimes I question why I served over 20 years protecting a country I don't even understand anymore.

I'm with you, he said nothing wrong. And anyone that knows me knows how I hold women in the highest of respect.

Of course in some eyes I'm so wrong for even saying that last statement.

At least I can admit to being an equal opportunity offender. I categorize everyone that passes me. He's old and faster, she's young and faster, he's skinnier and faster, she's fatter and faster, he's on a carbon fiber bike and faster, she's on a single speed mountain bike and faster,etc,etc.... Where do we draw the line????

Excellent twists and turns in this thread. It could yet have the distinction of being the first 'droping' thread moved to P & R.

Maybe the first one ever where a mod was the one who politicized it.
