Many of us are much quicker with our criticisms than we are with our praise. I try to offer praise when due just as quickly as I might criticize something. Recently, I bad mouthed Pearl Izumi gloves. They fit great, and seem to have a great design, but the padding began delaminating from the main body of the glove in both my pairs of Gel Lites. In retrospect, it was probably because I dried them in the dryer once to often rather than let them dry naturally after washing.

That said, I wrote PI complaining about the gloves, and they wrote back indicating that they have a 100% guarantee on all of their stuff, and told me to send them back for replacement. I mailed them last week, and today I received two brand new pair of PI gloves. That is great customer service. BTW, I did mention when I complained about the gloves that I love their other stuff, and find their garments to be of the higest quality and great fit.

Anyway, I intend to care for the new pairs with a bit more sense than I did with the returned ones.

I cannot agree more with you about PI. Almost all my gloves and winter gear is PI, well that I can wear, gloves, socks, bala clava, etc. I say PI is overpriced, but well worth it. I have finally gotten rid of my gel lites after 8 months, they got a bit nappy. I now you the LG erGOair gloves which rock too.

Ug... nothing but my socks goes in the drier.

I wash my hats, shorts, jersey and gloves and they all air dry... not a problem.

I've had the same pair of Gel Lites for almost 5 years now, when I use the nose wiper on the thumb, I really get a nasty whiff of how old these are. I think it's time for a new pair. I have a pair of their full finger gloves that have the same problem of the pad coming unattached, maybe I'll send for replacement. Overall, I have had very good luck with Pearl Izumi. I have 2 pairs of Microsensor bibs, 1 pair of Ultrasensor bibs, and a pair of Ultrasensor shorts. I have used more comfortable bibs than the Micro's (Specialized 200 Body Geometry bibs), but the fabric started piling after one ride . I returned them to Supergo and exchanged for Micro's, which so far seem to hold up very well.

Mine did the same thing. I went to my LBS to get new gloves and she told me about the 04 gel lites are doing that and they would be replaces under warranty. The 05's are not suppose to do that.

Good, mine were 04's, and I presume the ones I got in the mail today are 05's.

so let me get this straight...I can call up PI and they'll replace them if I think they're nappy, or will I need to wash em about 10x to get em to mess up?

I've been riding a pair of PI gloves (dont' know what model) for 6 years now. Yes, they are filthy, and yes they are tattered, but I loves them so much that I sneer whenever I walk past the gloves rack at the LBS. And since this is allergy season, I use that snot strip to its fullest!

    peace,
    sam

Check their website - they publish their guarantee there.
