White Bar Tape

Hello All:
I've never used white bar tape in my life but I have a bike that will look really good with it.
Those of you use white bar tape, what brand do you like? What brand stays white for a long time? I'm thinking of some kind of vinyl tape. Advice please.
Cheers,
Jim

I replaced the black bar tape on my son's red and white Felt. It stayed white with very little effort. This color went well with the white saddle I added as well. I used Bontrager Gel Cork tape.

I usually use a base layer of white cork ribbon with a top layer of Benotto translucent white plastic tape. Very shiny, pearly white, very easy to keep clean. Actually found a note on my bike once: "Beautiful tape!"

I've been thinking of doing the same but using satin-finish white gift-wrapping ribbon, since white Benotto tape is usually hard to find.

I used some white bar tap from Fizik. It has stayed amazingly white... far whiter than the previous (unknown) white bar tape I used.

It doesn't stay uniformly, perfectly white but... you want that patina. The saddle is different: that stays white.

See if you can find GOJO without the pumice. Slather it on, hose it off. Presto, nice clean white handlebar tape. Takes about as long is it did for me to type this.

I have white Fizik (2mm) on my one bike. It's been on there for 7 years. It's still quite white after this time. Yup, the bike gets well used.

I'm rewrapping it this week because the tape is worn through behind the hoods with, guess what, white Fizik. It's comfortable too.

I have white Neubaums cotton tape on another bike & it was dirty after a couple months.

Fizik or cello.

Lizard Skins on my Guru Sidero (steel). Fits with the letter/graphics. It will not stay clean white but I'm OK with that.

Fizik Microtex tape is the way to go if you want white bar tape. Feels good, doesn't get crazy slippery when wet, and unlike most white tapes it'll stay reasonably white.

I really like Specialized's bar tape. Wraps really nice, and seems very durable. I recently did one of my bikes in white in fact and it looks great. I originally thought it was overpriced but I now think it's worth the money because of it's durability.

My Prelude had white cork tape when I got it and I cleaned it up/kept it clean with baby wipes (aside from where there was tape residue). It doesn't really soak the tape so it air dried within a couple minutes. It was Novara brand.

I switched it out eventually for light gray cork tape from Deda. Stays clean longer but cleans just as easily.

I put white cork tape on a bike and I thought if it got dirty I would try to use Westley's Bleche White. Used to make my car tires white lettering clean up nice and white. I sold the bike before I could try it though....

I've had decent luck with the modern "cork" tapes and keeping them pretty clean. They show the dirt but can be wiped down easily to pretty much like new condition.

I can't say the same about the Lizard Skin. It get's black from my gloves and stays that way. This is the Lizard Skin after around 4000 miles of fair weather riding. I see it as a badge of honor.

The faux-leather type of tape is easier to cleam than foam tape, in my experience I use Cif Cream cleaner, works with both types but it takes more "elbow grease" to get foam tape clean.

I eventually gave up and replaced with cyan bar tape :v
