Question about Giro empire VR90 mtb shoes

hi, i bought a pair of giro empire vr90 shoes recently, gonna replace the old shimano one.
when i attach the cleats, i found that i can not adjust the cleats position.
that mean, i can not move the small metal plate inside the shoes which attach the cleat bolts.
does anyone have the same problem ? how to solve it ?

They're [probably] taped/glued in place during shipping to keep them from rattling around. Take the insole out, open the cleat window with a razor blade/x-acto knife (it's outlined), and pop the plate off.

Or you can try installing a cleat loosely, and giving it a tap up or down with a hammer and punch.
