Quill Adapter - Longer than usual

Bicycle bike threaded quill stem adapter adaptor 1" 22.2mm to 1 1/8" threadless | eBay

Many quill adapters seem to be rather short. I have an old Raleigh mountain bike which takes a goofball stem size so I'm going to replace it with a quill adapter and have the thing milled to proper diameter. The question is, I'd require mine to be longer than normal for rider height reasons. The stem itself will help compensate for rise and run, but I think some elevation right out of the fork is necessary. I'd like to hear opinions on longer quill adapters and who makes them (for anyone who'd care to volunteer input)... tnxs

Nitto makes a range of quill stems and so... you might not need an adapter.

Hi thanks and yes indeed. Nitto also = cha-ching! Theres always something out there for a price. Hell, I can get you a human toe by tomorrow noon for the right price (so says Sobchak). A Nitto stem would cost the price of frame, fork and seatpost. Not good value for this application (for me anyways).

Hi, I'll check out those merry guys and see what they have. We're at a 30% disadvantage though right now currencywise.
