Help identifying Vintage Holdsworth
Hi,
I have a chance to add another Holdsworth to my collection but I can't reliably identify what this bike is. There are a few contradictions, or so it seems to me with my limited knowledge of Holdsworths.
• The current owner sold me a 1981 Professional a few months ago from a deceased estate. Everything in the Pro checked out as original right down to the Campagnolo NR groupset. This latest offering is from the same estate.
• The Team paint job is original but this could have been a custom paint job for a customer, but at first glance it made me think Professional.
• It has the lugs of a Professional.
Mistral seem to have that extra curly point on the head lugs??
• Mudguard eyelets on the rear dropouts.
Makes me thin Mistral because Kilgariff said Pros were built without that.
It has no chrome.
If it is a Pro this means 1969, which then means Shop, but the wrapover is thin which means Factory.
Frame number: 34454
Does this imply somewhere around 1969-1970?
Decals are simple white with red outline.
Head badge is attached with open rivets
This strongly implies that it is ex Factory, not Shop.
So, what is this? A Mistral with Pro lugs?
Any ideas at all would be appreciated.
Cheers

I have no idea....except that you might want to post this in the Classic and Vintage forum.
