Garmin Edge 1000

I've had my Edge 1000 for 2 years and 100% rely on it for all my rides - I love the satnav round trip routings, live segments and garmin connect experience. It's a superb device and I thoroughly recommend it.

Recently the charge point has become loose which I thought might be fixed with a replacement battery kit, unfortunately this has not resolved the issue. Has anyone experienced the same problem, any suggestions are most welcome?

It's hard to know what you're expecting people to say. Garmin is going to be the authority, in this case.

Maybe you can dribble some 5-minute epoxy around the charging connection?

you probably need someone with micro-soldering skills. If there's a phone fix store near you, they might be capable, ibut sending it to Garmin is probably safer.

New units can be found for $350 or so. Maybe better to go that direction?

My 800 did the same thing. Mine would still charge but not sync on the computer. I purchased some surface mount mini usb and replaced. But I am set up for doing that type of work.
