Suggestions

Hi,

I'm new to the forum, and I joined because i need some help.

I have a Marin Palisades Trail, and am looking to uprgade it a bit.

I know I need a new saddle and seat post, and some brake pads, but other than that, is there anything anyone can suggest as to brands of parts or other improvements I should make to my bike?

Since you are looking into upgrading I assume you don't have the money for a full purchase. I dont really know the bike (Marins aren't popular over here either) but you could look into a peddle upgrade, derailers (sp), check your rear cassette for wear and tear.

Are you satisfied with the number of gears you have. Do you want more or less. Basically ask yourself how the bike could be better for YOU. :)

The Palisade is a quite good Al hardtail, with a good match of components and frame.
What do you want to use it for? Is the bike new or well used?

Generally the best value upgrade is the tyres. Get a set suited to your local conditions.
You may want to get a clipless pedal system for more sporty riding.
Apart from that, you only need to upgrade as parts wear out.

I bought it at Cove Bike shop in Deep Cove, British Columbia.
